The news these post-pogrom days is filled with stories of Jews objecting to actions committed in the name of leftism.
The left’s darling of the Mideast – Hamas – ransacked towns in the Jewish homeland established by the United Nations 75 years ago, in a display of rape and pillaging unmatched since the Dark Ages.
Maniacal, drug-infused, Jew-hating, Hitlerian crazies raped, beheaded, murdered and burned alive Jewish civilians, took others hostage for display, torture and execution, and filmed their carnage to proudly post on the internet. At least Genghis Khan didn’t post on the internet.
Conservatives have universally decried the barbarous spectacle.
The left, however, is not so sure. Many on the left have justified and even cheered it. For example, The Squad promoted Hamas propaganda that a Palestinian hospital was bombed by Israel, even after video indisputably showed it was bombed by an errant missile headed not from Israel but toward it.
College campuses have erupted with pro-Hamas and anti-Israel protests. Jews in one school were chased into the library while violent protesters shouted and banged on the doors. The librarian was sufficiently frightened that she offered to hide the Jews in, naturally, the attic.
Protesters at one site chanted “Gas the Jews.”
A resolution in the House of Representatives condemning the Hamas slaughter passed, but 14 Democrats voted against it, or, taking their cue from the French Vichy, voted “present.”
Jews are being advised worldwide not to reveal their Jewishness. For many, that would mean abandoning caps and clothing that are integral to their religious tradition.
Jews in America have long been a liberal minded group, in the best sense of the word. They’ve stood for tolerance over intolerance, equality of opportunity over equity of result, intellectualism over tribalism, speech over censorship, peace over war. As classic liberals, they identified with the Democratic Party where open-minded liberalism was once considered part of being a “Liberal.”
Jews have been willing to overlook the antisemitism that has pervaded the left since Marx (a bourgeois Jew who abandoned his faith in favor of atheism) and extending through Lenin, Hitler, Mao and most modern college professors.
Jews naturally root for disadvantaged people, after being disadvantaged themselves for most of the last two thousand years. So they felt some sympathy for so-called Palestinians (a name conjured up only in the mid-20th century), a hapless group who were dismissed by the entire Arab world and the rest of the world too.
This American Jewish sympathy for the Palestinians was notwithstanding the latter’s rejection of countless peace offerings from the Israelis, including a separate Palestinian state – which the Palestinians got anyway in a de facto sense when Israel turned Gaza over to them nearly 20 years ago.
But for many Jews feeling sympathy for the Palestinians, the Gaza pogrom crossed a line. What was to happen never again, happened again.
Not only did Palestinians barge out of their own homeland and into the Jewish homeland, and not only did they murder, torture and slaughter men, women and children.
It’s even worse than that. The preface and premise to the slaughter was the notion that Jews as a race are bad human beings who deserve to die for being Jewish.
And then the aftermath on the left was not remorse, but celebration and a promise that their genocide had only just begun.
As in the 1930s, the mob is hunting not only Jews with a particular political leaning. They’re not after only Israelis. They’re coming after all Jews. (And I doubt they’ll stop with the Jews, but that’s a topic for another column.)
When confronted with their antisemitism, the left always pretends that what is perceived as such is merely their objection to the Israel nation established by the U.N. But then why are Jewish students being harassed on American college campuses – youngsters whose political beliefs and position toward Israel are utterly unknown to the harassers?
The parallel to the 1930s in Nazi Germany is spooky.
The Jews have noticed. We are now seeing liberal Jews – Democrats! – objecting. Donors are withholding millions in donations to terrorism-pandering Universities (while Jewish donations to Israel are correspondingly up).
Prestige law firms are revoking job offers to bigots who broadcast their antisemitism on social media. Jewish Democrats in Congress are calling out other Democrats for their milquetoast response to the horrific terrorism.
Jews are taking a stand in America, a stand for true liberalism.
I stand with them, publicly. I hope you, too, stand with them, publicly. Almost all conservatives stand with them, publicly. The Republican Party stands with them, publicly. That public stance will continue even if the Jews continue to vote for Democrats, because that stance is the right one.
A current slogan of the left is “by any means necessary.” When the left’s “means” includes baby beheadings and Jewish pogroms, Jewish leaders are right to start wondering what end they have in mind.

I have been shocked and confused for a while why my Jewish friends support the vitriol and hatred of the Muslims within the Democratic Party.
I have never understood Jewish fealty to the Democrats, especially as the latter has become increasingly authoritarian, intolerant, and – well – illiberal. Perhaps now they will think – and vote – with the heads and their hearts.

The elephant in the room for the Hamas attacks is what role did Hezbollah play (a proxy for Iran), and the timing of the attacks — shortly after Joe Biden gave Iran $6 Billion.
That may sound like overheated conspiratorial fabrication, unless you consider that Israel has the best intelligence network in the world, and the explanation that Hamas used no electronic communications in planning the attack — hence the Mossad was blind-sided doesn’t hold up: Israel has penetrated Hamas with multiple informants, and the scale of the attack was conspicuous, including powered hang-glider bombers.
To put that in (personal) perspective, when I was in Israel, I visited a popular beach at Ashkalon, which is in Gaza just north of the Gaza strip. I walked about 50 yards inland, where there was a rise of tall sand dunes. Within minutes, an Israeli military helicopter appeared from nowhere and made a very close pass to check me out — and corral me back the the beach. There were sensors everywhere, part of an elaborate perimeter (and internal) security system that Israel maintains.
Biden desperately needs a distraction, and Gaza is a thorn in the side of Israel that many (including Netanyahu) would like to remove. So the IDF delayed it’s response to the Hamas attack long enough to allow Hamas to commit a few civilian atrocities in order to create a causus belli.
The mindset in Israel is very much one of perpetual existential threat, and Israeli’s are hardened to tragedy and loss. If Biden needed a distraction and the US was willing to support Netanyahu in a clean-up operation in the Gaza strip, Netanyahu would comply, and there are reports that he did just that:

I watched the tape you posted. The post is by an American Christian woman who “knows a rabbi” in Israel. Do you know how many rabbis there are in Israel? There are more rabbis in Israel than homeless beggars in NYC. (I even have three such cousins in Israel. Rabbis, not homeless beggars.) What happened in Israel was a monstrous failure of intelligence and a concept that Hamas was not interested in a confrontation with Israel. As a consequence, Israel had very few troops on its border with Gaza and most of the troops went home for the holiday. I’ve been to that area several times and in fact, my daughter’s best friend’s three year old son and husband were on a kibbutz next to Gaza when this happened. Fortunately, the kibbutz security squad were able to kill 30 terrorists before they could penetrate the security fence.
What is so unfortunate is that the anti Semitism of the Left (aka Democrats) was obvious and has been for years. Obama was a raving anti Semite. The despicable hangers on still running this country are burrowed in and seemingly impossible to root out.
I think finally the veil has lifted and these poor naive fools are seeing what many of us knew many years ago.
The Left hates a meritocracy because they pathetic losers who cannot achieve anything great on their own. These diversity hires, DEI and the rise of BLM are just more evidence this mind virus has been hiding in plain sight.

Which explains why the Roman Catholic translation (Douay-Rheims, et al.) calls the final book, “The Apocalypse.” That term has been transmogrified by modern usage into describing a final, cataclysmic or life-ending event, whereas it translates from the Greek as something like, “the unveiling,” or “the revealing.” Hence, “The Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ” as typically found in Protestant version of Scripture.

I don’t agree that Obama is a raving antisemite. Obama is a leftist who thinks that most problems in the world are the fault of the US and that if we have enemies, it’s our fault. If we just compromise with Iran, they’ll moderate their behavior. If Israel just compromises with Hamas, they’ll moderate their behavior. It’s a delusional worldview that postulates that if only we modulate our behavior, so will our enemies. Unfortunately, there are evil people in the world and it’s not us.
Incidentally, BLM is a group of raving antisemites. There’s a good op ed in the WSJ today on that subject.
Obama was clearly an anti-Semite. He was mired in the stew of anti Semitism from early on, by various black “leaders” including Louis Farrakhan. Remember the photo that was deep sixed before the election? There was video of Obama with a group of “black leaders” that was also carefully hidden. How about his association with Jeremiah Wright who clear back in 2008 claimed the US was “favoring” Israel over the Palestinians. He treated Bibi like a servant entering through the help’s door. Bibi’s media chief called him an anti Semite. He was in love with the Mullahs, with an obsequious pandering to Iran, sending them pallets of money. There is an entire book devoted to his views on Jews. None of them positive.
While I agree Obama lived in a world of magical thinking, his attitude toward Israel and the Jewish people was clearly hostile.

Maybe the Jews should stop “taking a stand for liberalism” and join us Conservatives. We have a big tent, we reject bigots and weirdos who attempt to be part of us–and speak out against them–and don’t care about your religion, color, sex, or orientation. We support Israel, Jewish people in our own country and around the world. The Left, simply, doesn’t.

Yesterday I watched a Senate hearing on the matter being interrupted seven times by mostly overweight white people — mostly shrill, shrieking white women, reinforcing my feeling that Jew-hatred is the tip of the spear of general anti-Western self-loathing on the part of a great many white liberals participating in a wave of anti-white racism.
As many have noted, we’re in the midst of a civilizational crisis.
I think some of these disgusting females are a legacy of Code Pink, a group of supposed anti-war activists whose main activity was the scream at the families of wounded soldiers who were visiting Walter Reed.
