“You loot, we shoot” is Americans’ answer to the left’s plot to enslave them

Governor Ron DeSantis is a very good governor. He may or may not out-debate the California pretty boy governor if that debate actually happens, but he sure out-governs him. The guy can run a big state, which historically suggests he could run a big country. See, Reagan, Ronald; but see, Carter, Jimmy.

DeSantis gave a speech the other day about the aftermath of a hurricane that barreled through Florida. Concern had been expressed about looting in the wake of the disaster. DeSantis expressed a similar concern – in the guise of a concern for the looters:

“People have a right to defend their property. This part of Florida, you got a lot of advocates and proponents of the Second Amendment, and I’ve seen signs in different people’s yards in the past after these disasters, and I would say it’s probably here – ‘You loot, we shoot.’”

He all but said “Make my day.”

I don’t advocate shooting looters. But I find it very understandable. I used to own some firearms myself until that tragic boating accident sent them to the bottom of a lake whose name I’ve forgotten.

Until that happened, it’s quite possible that an intruder into my home would have been confronted with the business end of them. After I first used the butt end to beat the bejesus out of him, his face, and his ribs.

(Yes, statistics tell us the intruder would almost certainly be a him, though not a real man. It would probably be something like that bad man Lia Thomas.)

But, you say, shouldn’t I instead call the police?

Hahahahaha!

The police have been de-masculated, de-monetized, and de-monized. The left decided the police were racist because they arrested a number of Black men that was disproportionate to the number of Black men in what we used to call “our culture” back when we had one. And so, a 911 call to summon the police is likely to be met with indifference or simply a multi-hour visit to “hold.”

That leaves what the lawyers call “self-help” and what the left calls “vigilantism.” Stripped of the rhetoric, it means every man and woman for him or herself. If you want to defend yourself and your property, be prepared to use a weapon.

As for your choice of weapons, I know a little about firearms. Many people do not. My recommendation to them is to get a keychain cannister of bear spray. If you manage to press the button – in any direction – an assailant will be rendered incapacitated for 5-10 minutes and will cough, puke and sneeze for hours.

You hardly need to point it. Just press the button. If it’s accidently pointed toward yourself, it will incapacitate you, too. Better than being murdered or raped.

But enough about you. Back to me. You loot, we shoot. Make my day.

  1. The simple truth is that black Americans commit a disproportionate amount of crime in the US.

Also undoubtedly true as well, black Americans make up a disproportionate number of crime victims, most certainly because they are being assaulted, raped, robbed and killed by their fellow blacks.

The best thing that the US criminal justice system can do is arrest, prosecute, and incarcerate these hardened criminals (regardless of race) in order to protect the innocent and to give some modicum of justice and reassurance to the unfortunate victims.

    • You know, I’m sure, that the term “criminal justice system” no longer has its traditional meaning. Whereas it once described the legal system that protected society against the depredations of its criminal element, it now means a system that is innately criminal which prosecutes its political opponents. Like almost everything else in our Bizzaro World ™, it is the obverse of all former norms that is now the rule, and which is enforced against any and all remaining traditionalists. Good is now bad; right is now wrong; women are men and men women, if they wish it to be so. As a result, the solution you propose to the problem of violent crime will never, in our lifetimes, become reality. We have passed the point of no return, or if you will, the societal event horizon, where our trajectory is inexorably downward into the black hole and annihilation. It may be sooner or it may be later, depending on many factors, but the outcome is now determined. Or to use another analogy, it is like a battleship that has taken too many hits below the waterline; the inrushing water will eventually overwhelm the ability of the pumps to compensate and the ship is doomed. But I’m with you in the effort, and perhaps it may yet be as it was on that day when Aragorn and his small army entered upon The Battle of The Morannon, when he rallied his few men with the following speech:

My brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of Men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields when the Age of Men comes crashing down, but it is not this day!
      This day we fight!
By all that you hold dear on this good earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!

But then again, it was only a movie.

      • “Only a movie,” or story. The other “story” is what you phrase as an inexorable downward trajectory: a law of physics requiring me to accept the death of a civilization with the same fatalistic equanimity with which I accept the foreordained death of my body. That most of us prefer the movie is the glory of our species, which has no other reason for being here, if not to dispute “inexorability” and shine a light in the darkness that will not be extinguished.

        Great comment, Steve.

    • In all fairness, the vast majority of their victims, particularly murder victims, are other blacks. The irony is that the individuals complaining the most about the “over-incarceration” of blacks tend to be black intellectuals and academics who live in nice neighborhoods where they are unlikely to be the victims of criminals.

  2. I’ve had several boating accidents where every firearm was lost , a democrat might describe it as an arsenal but it was only 2100 guns .

  3. Am so sorry to hear that you, too, were the victim of a tragic (house) boating accident. Jill and I had our house boat burn down when it was struck by lightning, causing a kitchen fire which spread and consumed the entire house (boat), including my gun collection, which then sank to the bottom of the lake. I was only able to save my Siamese cat and my ’67 Mercury boat motor.

    Mahalo, Hugo.

  4. Is there a “best universal authoritative verbal phrase” that we could deliver toward a looter, or into the general direction of the sound of a potential B&E, that would be effective, and at the same time a phrase that some lawyer or prosecutor couldn’t use against the deliverer should the encounter escalate beyond words?

    • I’ve read that the sound of a pump gun getting racked apparently triggers reconsideration in the minds of home invaders.

  5. ” I am in fear for my life.” Said by husband and wife in unison. Followed by sound of shotgun being pumped by husband while wife points her AR-15.

  6. 93 percent of black murders are committed by blacks . ~ former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young..

Young black males ( 3 percent of the US population ) commit over 60% of all murders and 72% of all robberies .. – FBI’s 2016 Uniform Crime Report
