There’s another COVID variant on the loose.
Yawn.
But it’s no yawn to the virtue signalers and the control freaks and the teachers’ unions and the socialist politicians and the “work” from home crowd. They see it as another chance to signal virtue, exercise freakish control, avoid real teaching, redistribute more wealth, and “work” from home forever.
They had a ball last time. Yes, it damaged a generation of children, cost the country trillions of dollars (the repayment of which we’ll bequeath to those damaged children), sparked a lawlessness that still endures, elected a mean, stupid, senile, bribe-taker to the presidency, and spawned inflation that has diminished real earnings and will take years to drain from the system. But who cares about those things?
Well, I do. So do most other Americans.
I care about something else, too. As a matter of principle, I care that these selfish petty tyrants lied and cheated to impose their destructive will on Americans. I care that they owned us and our country for a couple of years and in that time laid great cities to ruins for vagrants, something like the Vandals sacking Rome to inaugurate the Dark Ages.
I care that they humiliated me, my family, and my culture. I care, and I remember.
So . . . we have a score to settle with these little Nazi Nero’s who fiddled, froliced and fornicated while our civilization burned.
Let’s have a rematch. My message to them is: Bring back your totalitarianism, your overreaching diktats, your lockdowns, your vaccine cards and, oh yes, especially your mask mandates.
Just try it. I dare you and I beg you. Make my day.

I’m with you, Glenn. And by “I’m” I mean me. However, there is the matter regarding my wife, who needs medical care, and if the providers decide that their patients must wear a mask to be seen, what choice do we have? I’m not the only one in this position; anyone with a spouse, child, parent or loved one can be similarly coerced. It’s always been like this; bad people know they can compel desired behaviors by attacking or threatening to harm third parties. It’s why kidnapping and hostage-taking have persisted as a problem throughout recorded history. Bad individuals have behaved this way forever, but never before in American history has our own government undertaken this level of thuggish behavior against innocent citizens. If there’s a gun to my head, I’ll resist, because I’m old and stubborn but if the muzzle is placed against my wife’s head, I’ll do just abut anything to preserve her life, even against her wishes. Love is funny that way. Bad actors know this and take advantage. But then again, there’s always revenge, which is a dish best enjoyed cold.

I have to agree with Steve In the last round, being accused of killing grandma,I had to remind people that I AM Grandma, widowed, elderly, overweight and diabetic. This time, if it happens, I could be coerced by threats to my grand children (only)
Although I agree with the dare, and I’m with you 100%, I frankly am afraid that they do have the power to a) fire me, b) lock me out of grocery stores, c) deny me health care d) take away my kids, and who knows what else. They’ve had three full years to prepare for the next round. They have not been idle and likely are prepared for the dare. We live in a country of too many sheep. Perhaps 10% will resist. Not enough. Truly 70% need to resist. We just aren’t ready.
I’m with you 100% and discouraged by the above responses….don’t give up without a fight. I think a lot of those who fought the law…and the law didn’t win. The people locked out of churches, the people whose businesses were closed down, the people who refused the vax. Yes it was painful and expensive but I think we’ve had it with these ridiculous demands.
Last time there was a lot of social pressure to comply. Now the Mask Maniacs are bleating that because THEY still want to look like idiots, we should go along so they don’t feel uncomfortable.
The genie is out of the bottle and he’s not getting away with it this time.

And I too am disheartened by the compliant responses here. I understand not wanting to imperil loved ones, but the appeasers fail to realize that their loved ones are imperiled long term even though they’re seeking to avoid short term peril. They need to WAKE UP!!
Our Founding Fathers could have said ‘gee I’m not so sure about all this sacrificing my life, fortune or sacred honor stuff’ and then we all would have been under the yoke of royal tyranny for the last nearly 250 years, which might make what could be coming towards us look like a, dare I say, tea party. Such social engineering failed spectacularly beginning over a century ago with the ratification of the Eighteenth Amendment. The resulting Prohibition Era ushered in an unprecedented growth in organized crime and the mass resistance, resentment and disobedience to the beer, wine and liquor bans.
