It’s undisputed that the Biden family was taking money from foreign governments. The clearest example is Hunter, who received about $11 million from entities associated with the Chinese and Ukrainian governments, according to NBC News. He failed to pay income tax on at least some of this money.
It’s also undisputed that the emails in Hunter’s notorious laptop referenced “the big guy” at least 41 times in connection with foreign money, and that “the big guy” is his father Joe. It’s undisputed that at least one such email refers to “10% for the big guy.”
Contrary to Joe’s claim that he “never” discussed Hunter’s foreign business dealings with him, it’s undisputed that there are actual photographs that pose Joe (while Vice President), Hunter, and Hunter’s foreign business “associates” together at least 14 different times. It’s difficult to imagine that Joe didn’t say, “Sooo, son, who the f*** are these foreigners and what’s in it for us?”
That said, it’s hard to prove the crime of political bribery. That’s because it requires more than (1) the payment of money to a politician and (2) action by the politician that benefits the payor. If that were all it took, the heads of the teachers’ unions would have been sent to jail long ago.
It takes a third element: It takes proof that the action taken by the politician was in consideration of the money paid to him. It takes proof of the quid pro quo, the something for something. That proof exists sometimes. But most times, it does not. Instead, there’s a whole lot of winking and nodding.
In the old days before the extinction of journalism, journalists would sometimes dig up that evidence. These days, they don’t.
I doubt a bribery case will succeed against Joe Biden. His ultimate defense would be “Yeah, I took the money in exchange for favors, but I never delivered on the favors. I cheated those bastards!”
And he probably did. (See, Clinton, Hillary, outlandish speaking fees.)
The tax laws are a different beast. A failure to report income is a violation of the tax laws even if it’s wholly inadvertent, and carries substantial penalties in the form of fines and interest charges.
If the failure to report income is willful, it’s tax fraud, commonly called tax evasion (as distinguished from perfectly legal tax avoidance). The IRS refers suspected cases of criminal tax fraud to the Department of Justice, and people routinely go to jail for it. (See, Capone, Alphonse, bootlegging receipts.)
Republicans newly empowered as the majority in the House are investigating the Biden dealings, since the media do not want to bother and do not want to see what they would find. Or as the media likes to characterize such investigations when performed by Republicans, the Republicans are “seizing” or “pouncing” on evidence.
The latest evidence is from a growing stream of whistleblowers who have contacted Republican House Reps. They report that Joe got his cut of the foreign payola through numerous limited liability companies. LLCs are legal entities that are something like corporations in that they hold assets in their own names while the entity is owned directly or indirectly by individuals.
The whistleblowers report that the LLCs set up by the Bidens received the foreign payola, but didn’t directly disburse it to Joe. Instead, they laundered the money by using it to pay Joe’s living expenses. That way, there was no record of any income to Joe. This absence of a record of income to Joe would be convenient under the bribery and tax laws.
To the IRS, however, this arrangement is a sham. The IRS considers the receipt of anything of value to be “income” for tax purposes. If it were otherwise, you could avoid income tax by having your car payments, utility bills, and mortgage payments paid by your employer as part of your compensation, and thereby avoid taxation on that part.
That doesn’t work. To the IRS, such payments are all income to you and have to be reported as such so they can be taxed.
Biden’s scheme is startling in its unsophistication, but so are the Bidens. At least Hillary complicated-up her money laundering through a so-called charitable foundation.
If the whistleblowers are telling the truth, the fact that the Bidens set up this juvenile tax evasion scheme would be strong evidence that their failure to report the income received under it was willful, and therefore criminal. People have gone to jail for far less.
Will the Bidens be held accountable? Only if the American people demand it.
Watch for my book set for publication on April 18, titled “High Attitude – How Woke Liberals Ruined Aspen.”
When it comes to tax crimes, it’s hard not to feel some sympathy for the tax absconder because … who the hell likes paying taxes?!?
Those buggy mop top Brits from the 60s, who later got into LSD and other weird lefty causes, realized too the corrosiveness and destruction of the taxman …
Even that bootlegging Mafia scoundrel Al “Scarface” Capone can elicit some sympathy in that he was brought down by income tax evasion.
It’s sorta like finding out that a serial bank robber was arrested and sent to San Quentin State Prison not for the crime of robbery, but because he was caught in his getaway car speeding 10 mph above the 60 mph speed limit. He was sent to prison for being a serial speeder, not a serial bank robber.
But … there should be special ire and repudiation reserved for those who constantly demand that the so called “rich” just “pay their fair share” while also empowering the noxious IRS with billions upon billions to hire some 80K tax agents to further throttle the American public.
There should be a rule, an ethic morality written into stone, that those who demand the further empowerment of the taxman should have the last seven years of his or her finances forensically audited. Because it seems more and more like the people in D.C. who most ardently support turning the IRS into a tax collecting Godzilla are the exact same people who have the worst records of properly paying taxes.
Psychological projection anyone?!?
Biden and his ilk seem to be feeding a monster that ends up becoming our Godzilla.
The late Great Communicator Ronaldus Magnus once presciently said … “To sit back hoping that someday, someway, someone will make things right is to go on feeding the crocodile, hoping he will eat you last – but eat you he will.”
So … it would indeed be karma or poetic justice to have the Biden Crime Inc. taken down by the taxman. Because … eat you he will.
Lastly, as it is tax season and I so resent having to go through and opening up the past year of my life to the bureaucrats who belong to the National Treasury Employees Union, I can’t help but go back to this rather great clip from the 1980s era movie “Harry’s War.”
The movie might be some 40 years old, but it is still relevant today as it ever was …
Erin go Bragh!
So House democrats announce that “the Trump family” failed to report gifts from foreign entities between 2017 and 2020. Then the New York AG seems about to formalize criminal indictments against that same Trump family for inflating its real estate holding values when applying for loans (which they repaid in full and on time). And last but not least, that self-same New York AG is about to announce an indictment against Trump for buying off Stormy Daniels (i.e., paying her to sign a NDA). Meanwhile, the Bidens have been busily hoovering up millions in foreign and domestic graft for decades and we barely hear a peep out of the dominant media. I’m going out on a limb here to predict that we will be be drowning in media reports on all things Trump from now until all the various and sundry witch hunts are processed through the kangaroo courts while not one indictment will result from of all the Biden corruption.
I’m going to believe that Karma will hit the Biden mafia gang, sooner than later. It must, if not in earth, then elsewhere. God watches and waits.
This is why the name “Biden Crime Family” has become shorthand for their various nefarious acts.
So accountability will occur “Only if the American people demand it,” you say. If a demand is understood as a request made on the basis of a right, or supposed right, to the thing being sought, then I agree that the IRS has the cleanest claim on something owed to it, statutorily, plain and simple . . . if, of course, it has the political will to make its claim.
As for the rest of us? What are we owed, by right? Openness on the part of those who govern us? Ethical high mindedness? On what basis — some notion of Natural Law holding that the universe is pervaded by moral laws as immutable as the laws of terrestrial and interplanetary motion? Biblical morality?
Stick it, says the left, which has thoroughly outflanked us in the “demand” business, demanding reparations for “social injustices” of every kind, informed and ratified by “feelings” that are the left’s equivalent of “self-evident” truths.
“Demand me nothing,” says the apprehended Iago in “Othello”; “What you know, you know.” And what we know is that we have no philosophical muscle in this Brave New World. Shall we take our demands to the ballot box, where the fix is in? To the courts, where the fix is also in? To the court of public opinion, which the left dominates? Shall we practice civil disobedience, which only seems to work for Antifa’s uncivil version of it?
Teach me how to demand. I’ve lost the knack for it.

Looks like it, feels like it, smells like it, tastes like it. Will anything be done about “it”?
Probably not but the UniParty will continue to harass Trump for whatever they can dream up.
I need to learn to stop caring
I am 68 and NOTHING will ever happen in my lifetime even if we had a ticket with Trump, DeSantis and Kari Lake to eliminate the swamp …..the democrat dark money to steal the 2024 election is already above 1 Billion
the USA is over and I need to get my ass to Texas before they leave the Union and close the boarder
Texas is a goner. Too many pothead socialists like Joe Rogan have moved there. It’s only a matter of time until it’s blue.
I’m not so sure, Jack. The future of Texas depends largely on the Hispanic vote. The Dems foolishly assumed that they cater to Hispanics by opening the border. But to their surprise, Hispanics that are here legally — the voting kind — think the illegals should wait their turn just as they did and their parents did. And they don’t like illegals driving down wages.
Republicans should continue to embrace legal Hispanics, as they have in Florida. These people tend to be hardworking and also share Republicans’ conservative cultural values.
