Lia Thomas is a bad man

I don’t hate Lia Thomas because she’s a transsexual; I hate her because she’s a cheat.

At the Ivy League Championship Swim Meet last weekend, Thomas easily won four events, setting pool and league records. She may be the most-improved swimmer in history. She was ranked 462nd in the country a few years ago, and is now ranked Number 1.

The difference is not that her swim times have gotten better. It’s that her competition has gotten worse. Her Number 462 ranking was against men, while her Number 1 ranking is against women.

Thomas is on the women’s swim team at Penn but went through her entire life including her development years of puberty as a man with male testosterone levels producing male height, weight and muscle mass.

Making America think and speak again

Two menstruating persons walk into a bar and sit in a booth. The cocktail waitperson inquires, “What are you having today?” One of them moans, “What I’m having at the moment are killer cramps! I don’t suppose you serve arsenic, but what else can you offer me?”

“Oh, dear,” replies the waitperson. “Being a transgender gal, I’m afraid I’m not the right person to ask. I mean, I always wanted cramps, so I could bond more completely with the other girls, but my surgeon . . . . Forgive me. Tell you what, though, my manager is a menopausal birthing person, who probably knows a thing two. I’ll ask her to come out and talk to you . . . .”

OK, by now you realize that the only joke here is on you, if you have an employer or a teacher or a civil servant who thinks and speaks like this.

Putin is not foolish enough to invade Ukraine

Vladimir Putin is not afraid of Joe Biden, the newly-woke U.S. military, the Keystone Kops at the NSA, CIA or sundry other alphabet organizations right down to BIPOC and LGBTQ, or his speechwriter “doctor” Jill, or the yes-men (er, persons) in the White House. The Kamala Kackle gives him pause, but he has people to handle her.

No, Putin is not afraid of any of them. In fact, it’s that collection of nitwits that tempts him.

Here’s what he’s afraid of, for good reasons.

First, war is semi-obsolete in today’s global economy. Just as China doesn’t want war with the United States, which is its biggest manufactured goods customer, Russia doesn’t want war with western or even eastern Europe, which are its biggest oil and gas customers.

Say what you will about the perils of globalization, but it does discourage war. Bombing your customer or even your customer’s neighbor is bad for business.

Aspen Skiing Company instructs its employees to discriminate in favor of blacks

Aspen is hosting the National Brotherhood of Skiers, which is advertised to be “the largest black ski group in the United States.”

That’s nice. Welcome to Aspen, my friends.

A hearty welcome was not enough, however, for Mike Kaplan, the liberal white CEO of Aspen Skiing Company. He found it necessary to issue a memo to all employees instructing them how to behave around black people.

Kaplan instructed employees to greet the black guests “lovingly and intentionally.” He says employees ordinarily treat all guests this way but instructed them “to make an even greater effort” with the black ones. He goes on to tell employees the reason for this special effort for blacks.

It’s because “standard or even slightly bad service can easily be interpreted as bias.” And so, employees should avoid saying to customers who are black things that might be interpreted as racist, such as “that parking spot is just for hotel guests” or “you can’t park there” or “my restaurant isn’t open now, come back at 5.”

I’m not making this up – these are quotes from Kaplan’s memo.

Let’s shoot the groundhog, warm the planet and eradicate winter

A verminous, potentially rabid rodent in Pennsylvania crawled out of his hole in the ground this week, saw his shadow and, according to the local vermin whisperers, gloated that he’s entitled to another six weeks of dreamy winter sleep. Everyone clapped.

I say shoot him.

I have to admit that this creature’s cryptic weather forecasts are more accurate than those of a British climatologist who predicted 22 years ago that snow would become extinct in Britain within a few years. He was dramatically wrong.

Of course, a few datapoints – that there have been some harsh winters recently and Punxsutawney Phil forecasts another one this year – do not disprove the phenomenon of global warming. If you want to analyze by anecdote, consider that winters in Colorado over the course of my lifetime have become a bit milder.

In any event, even though the British climatologist is a woke, needle-dick, politically correct, attention-seeking alarmist and a British one to boot, and one that I’d really like to, I wish he had been right.

It’s blasphemy to the pagan climateers but – and so – I’ll say it: To hell with snow.

Whoopi Goldberg believes the Holocaust was not racist

A woman named Caryn Elaine Johnson who goes by the stage name “Whoopi Goldberg” informed her television viewers the other day on a program I’ve never seen called The View that “The Holocaust isn’t about race. No, it’s not about race.”

Whatever happened to the leftist trope that there’s no such thing as race? The left has rediscovered race and now it’s everywhere they look, except in the Holocaust. America is racist – systemically! – but the Nazi’s were not.

The Germans and Jews certainly thought the Holocaust was about race. When Nazi’s said “we will exterminate the Jewish race” and thereupon murdered over six million of them, the Jews took it personally. Go figure.

Whoopi’s co-hosts, though not the most informed crowd, tried to correct Whoopi. But they couldn’t change her “mind.” Whoopi instead dug her hole deeper. She Whoopi-splained that the Holocaust was merely “about two white groups of people.”

Criticism ensued from Jews including Holocaust survivors, the U.S. Holocaust Museum, and the Anti-Defamation League, and many non-Jews as well (but not “The Squad” of Democrat progs). They noted that the Nazi’s explicitly considered the Jews a different and inferior race, and many Jews themselves consider their culture different from typical white culture.

You may have a solid racial discrimination lawsuit against Joe Biden and the U.S. government

The White House last week leaked word of Justice Stephen Breyer’s imminent retirement. The leak forced Justice Breyer to accelerate his plan to the following day, rather than waiting until the end of the Supreme Court term in June, as typically happens.

Accelerating Justice Breyer’s plan was not an incidental outcome of the White House leak. It was the intended outcome.

And it worked, for a moment anyway. Attention has been diverted from Joe Biden’s ongoing bungling of Ukraine, the economy, COVID, the border, Afghanistan and his plummeting poll numbers, by a renewed focus on his campaign promise to nominate a black woman for the next Supreme Court opening.

Indeed, the very next day Biden repeated that promise. He explicitly stated that he would replace Breyer with a black woman. Anyone not a black woman need not apply for the job.

Biden has forever stigmatized his Supreme Court nominee

Joe Biden announced on the campaign trail a couple of years ago that he intended to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court. He re-affirmed that intention today in the wake of Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement announcement.

It’s not that Biden has a particular nominee in mind who just happens to be a black woman. No, it’s that being a black woman is the main criteria.

This is not unprecedented for Biden. In the Democrat primaries, he announced he intended to choose a woman for his running mate. And then he did. We got Kamala Harris, who is reasonably qualified for the job – if the only qualification is being a woman.

I’ll take my COVID curve short and steep, not long and flat

Scientists are still debating whether we should try to “flatten” the COVID curve. The curve is a plot of deaths on the vertical axis versus time on the horizontal axis. The graph above is an example, showing daily deaths worldwide from COVID since the advent of the pandemic.

If you add up the daily deaths, you of course wind up with the total deaths – currently over 800,000 in the U.S. This is the “area under the curve.” (Calculus, anyone?)

“Flattening the curve” means lowering the peaks – lowering the daily deaths. Scientists on one side of the “flattening” debate – call them the Flatteners – say that we can accomplish that by taking preventive measures such as mask-wearing and social distancing, as we have for the last two years to varying degrees.

On its face, that sounds prudent. It was certainly prudent two years ago when COVID infections threatened to overwhelm hospitals.

Other scientists – call them the Non-Flatteners – contend that, with Omicron now the dominant variant, we should do the opposite. (Yes, “follow the science” is a meaningless platitude when scientists disagree, as they frequently do.) The Non-Flatteners point out that the Omicron variant is highly transmissible, and so preventive measures are futile.

Don’t hate Joe for his senility; hate “doctor” Jill and his other handlers for their elder abuse

After another loss at the Supreme Court and on the verge of more losses at even the Democrat-controlled Senate, the guy who used to be Joe Biden read a speech last week that someone wrote:

“The next few days … will mark a turning point in this nation’s history. Will we choose democracy over autocracy, light over shadows, justice over injustice? I know where I stand … I will defend … our democracy against all enemies – foreign and, yes, domestic.”

“Where will the institution of the United States Senate stand? … “Will you stand against voter suppression? Yes or no? … Will you stand against election subversion? Yes or no? Will you stand for democracy? Yes or no?”

“I ask every elected official in America: How do you want to be remembered? … Do you want to be … on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be on the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be on the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?”

This is unadulterated crap. The Georgia voting laws he’s demagoguing as fascist and racist are less strict than in Biden’s liberal home state of Delaware and less strict than in uber-liberal New York State.
